All students in Years 7 and 8 will study KS3 Food.
Through practical work, they will learn: nutrition; the function of ingredients; how to adapt and plan recipes to meet individual needs; develop practical skill and technique; how to evaluate and improve products; where food comes from; food safety and hygiene.
They will acquire a wide range of skills making predominately savoury products and will learn to work to deadlines, acquire the essential literacy, numeracy and communication skills that enable them to progress.
In Year 7 the topic is ‘Breakfast and Lunch time’.
In Year 8 the topic is ‘dinner time’.
