Students practice their Interview Skills

Year 12 students were put through their paces by local employers when they took part in Mock Interviews last week. As part of their preparation for work programme students have been studying interview techniques which resulted in the practical learning session.

Employers from around the city including DWP, Plymouth Argyle, YMCA, Mollies and Lignum Designs gave a day of their time to hold mock interviews and support the students with successful applications and CV writing.

The students were given a series of questions relating to work experience, achievements, scenarios and aspirations and were then provided with constructive feedback which would help them in future real life interviews.

100% of students found the session to be a positive, motivational experience which enabled them to learn new skills and improve their self confidence.  As a result of the process employers were so impressed that some students were offered part time employment around their studies.
