Oakwood Primary visit for IT
and History Lesson

At Sir John Hunt, we are committed to making the transition from primary to secondary school a smooth and enjoyable experience. As part of this effort, we recently had the pleasure of welcoming Year 5 students and staff from Oakwood Primary School for an action-packed day of learning.

The students took part in dynamic IT and History sessions aimed at boosting their confidence and familiarity with secondary school life. In the IT session, they developed essential digital skills through interactive and engaging activities. Meanwhile, in the History session, the students had the chance to step back in time and immerse themselves in Viking culture by creating their very own Viking shields!

Beyond the academic activities, the visit allowed students to interact with our dedicated staff, explore our fantastic facilities, and experience the welcoming atmosphere of Sir John Hunt Community Sports College. By taking part in these sessions, they gained valuable insight into the exciting opportunities that await them in secondary school.

The day was a tremendous success, and it was wonderful to see the students grow in confidence as they engaged with their learning. We are delighted to have introduced them to life at our College and look forward to seeing them again in the future as they continue their journey towards secondary education.

Through experiences like this, Sir John Hunt Community Sports College remains dedicated to ensuring every student’s transition is positive, inspiring, and filled with exciting learning opportunities.
