Since the beginning of September, our new Year 7 students have made an outstanding start to their journey at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College. Transitioning from primary to secondary school is perhaps the biggest step most students take in their educational careers, but our newest cohort has approached it with enthusiasm, maturity, and a fantastic attitude toward all aspects of College life.
From day one, Year 7 have demonstrated excellent commitment to their studies, settling quickly into new routines and showing a strong work ethic in every subject. Their teachers and support staff have been hugely impressed by their determination to succeed and their eagerness to learn.
Beyond the classroom, our new students have embraced the many opportunities available to them. With over 50 clubs and activities on offer, it’s been wonderful to see so many Year 7s getting involved - whether that’s in sports, the arts, creative pursuits, or academic enrichment.
Some of our Year 7's have already represented the College in sporting tournaments, with football being the most recent example. This has been an opportunity for them to demonstrate their teamwork, ambition, and endeavour in line with our College values. Their efforts and achievements have set a brilliant example of what it means to be part of the Sir John Hunt community.
We are incredibly proud of the way our year 7 students have started their secondary school journey. If these first few weeks are anything to go by, their future academic career at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College promises to be an exciting and successful one!
