On Wednesday, Sir John Hunt came together for our annual Celebration Assemblies, honouring the incredible achievements of our students from the past academic year and celebrating the fantastic start made by our new Year 7's.
Across the day, nearly 500 awards were presented to students from every year group - recognising not just academic success, but also resilience, kindness, leadership, and contribution to College life, key aspects of our College Values of Ambition, Endeavour and Respect. The atmosphere was one of pride and celebration as students and staff reflected on another year of hard work, growth, and success.
Among the standout recipients, special recognition went to Ava V, Darcie T, Levi M, Ruby T, Shania J, Ruby S and Amii K, who each received the prestigious Principal’s Award for their exceptional commitment, determination, and contribution to the College community.
In her keynote address, Mrs Bevan reflected on the inspiring journey of our students, drawing parallels with Sir John Hunt’s historic Everest expedition and our College Values. We were reminded that success is not only about reaching the summit, but about the courage and perseverance shown along the way, the key message being that:
"Together, we can continue to climb higher and achieve extraordinary things"
A huge congratulations to all of our award winners and nominees - your achievements and attitude embody the very best of what it means to be part of Sir John Hunt Community Sports College.
