From Trampolines to Twickenham: Jack’s Sporting Triumph

Year 8 student Jack K, sporting journey has taken him from gymnastics mats to rugby pitches - and recently, to the world-famous Allianz Stadium at Twickenham.

Jack was talent-spotted at the age of 5 by the City of Plymouth Trampoline and Gymnastics Club. Over the years, he represented both the South West team and Plymouth at the Regionals, earning an impressive collection of more than 30 medals for his skill and commitment.

Last year, Jack made the exciting switch from trampolining to rugby, joining Devonport Services Rugby and Football Club (DSRFC). His coaches immediately saw his potential and placed him in the front row as a tighthead prop-a demanding and crucial role in the scrum.

This spring, Jack and his teammates received an incredible opportunity: to play at the Youth Festival 2025, held at Twickenham on the same day as the legendary Army vs Navy match. DSRFC took on the Army youth team (Saturday, 3rd May 2025)-and won!

Their victory earned them the unforgettable chance to play during half-time of the main match, in front of a staggering crowd of 48,997 spectators.

In Jack’s own words, “It was incredible!”
