Football Success for KS3

It has been a fantastic spring term of football fixtures for our combined Year 7&8 cohort, with the group showing great ambition to train and play in all weathers that we have experienced this term. The term started with us playing on the grass but for the majority of the term we have been lucky to have the all weather pitch to still be able to host school fixtures. For a group of players that have just come together as a team they have shown great resilience at times - often scoring late goals and coming back from deficits to gain a result from the game.

Our record as of writing for the newsletter reads: Played 12 games, won 8, drawn 2 and lost 2. For a group of new players is a fantastic effort. There are still plenty of areas where the team can improve, and we will be looking to do so over the next half term with some fixtures organised against some schools outside of Plymouth, whilst competing against familiar opponents within Plymouth too. Next half term will also start to see us introduce some Year 7 fixtures as we look to grow their fixture programme for the future.

Praise must go fully to the players, who in every single game and training session have excelled at demonstrating the values of the school; showing ambition, endeavour and respect when putting on an SJH kit. One thing is for sure, there is plenty more to come from this group of players!
