On 27th September, a selection of our Year 11 students attended the inspiring Launchpad Live event at the Life Centre. The purpose of the event was to prompt students to consider their post-16 pathways and expose them to a variety of career options.
Interactive exhibits provided hands-on experiences such as crafting dovetail joints, (a foundational skill in furniture making) learning techniques for bridal hairstyles with Skills Group and Babcock offered a unique virtual reality experience, teaching the basic principles of welding. The students fully engaged with the exhibitors, showing interest and motivation when thinking about their future.
It is never too early to start talking to students about their future, I am available at lunch and break for any student who want to talk things through with me and make a plan for their future aspirations.
