Key Stage 3

Welcome to Key Stage 3 at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College and the start of the secondary learning experience. Our vision is for every student to realise their potential and, to make that happen, we insist on high expectations of attendance and punctuality, conduct and attitude to learning.

We encourage our students to challenge themselves, to develop new skills and knowledge and to become confident, independent learners. We also encourage them to make the most of the many opportunities on offer; we offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities and we also offer the Key Stage 3 Learning Club after school every day, where students can be supported to complete homework.

Key Stage 3 is the first stage of a seven year journey and, central to everything we do, is the belief that every student has potential and we look forward to working with parents and carers to unlock the potential of every young person at Sir John Hunt.

Students follow a three year Key Stage 3 at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College. The curriculum has been designed to ensure that they develop the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil their potential throughout their time at the College. However, whilst there is a clear focus on academic learning and progress, a key aim is to support our students to become resilient, independent young adults.
